Right now the dollar is constantly losing its value. Gas, food, housing prices are going through the roof. I think that hyperinflation will lead us into a severe recession and eventually into a depression.

My question to you is when do you think it will happen? Will it happen after the Olympics? Will it happen in October after the 3rd quarter reports? Or will we see a decline at the end of the year entering into 2009?

What do you think?

Seriously? Of course it won’t. It will take alot more than these problems to “collapse” an economy (where currency holds no value and capital markets won’t at all function)

    I mean seriously…lol

The US economy will recover, it takes ups and downs, it always has but as long as the US is a superpower they will be just fine…. I would not invest in the stock market not if you are in your 60’s but if you are younger and have time to earn and save it is a great time to invest…
As always you should spread out your money, domestic and foreign stocks, gold, cash, bonds etc etc

i would say the process has already begun, give it few more years ( i am being conservative).

as soon as oil starts trading in euro’s and china and other countries start dumping the dollar you will see an imminent collapse.

dollar is falling, baby boomers are retiring, we are in huge debt as a nation, potential war with Iran, we cannot finance a welfare/warfare economy, we are loosing huge jobs, Fed’s printing money like there is no tomorrow. our choices for the next president is a joke and they have no clue about economics. wall street is acting irrational, citi group declared loss and huge write downs and yet their stock goes up. your time frame sounds right to me.
