Their are signs of it among them failure to pay the home mortgages, the devaluation of the dollar against the Euro, the increase in cost of life, the quick surging of countries like China and India, the increase in the price of the barrel of petroleum today at $105.00, the increase of the unemployment all contribute for the actual situation. It won't be as obvious as, say, the Great Depression because there are too many safeguards in place and most big companies on Wall Street are International entities that can exist and flourish regardless of what happens to the United States. Economically, difficult times are just ahead. If you read up on the Stagflation of the 1970's under Jimmy Carter, you will get an idea of what we have in store. This will probably be worse in some respects, since the first solution for all Presidential candidates will make things worse, not better, and we have a Health Insurance Crisis and Social Security bankruptcy coming right behind. In addition, the attempts to "slow economic growth" for the sake of the environment will also stall things. So, yes, it will be bad. But, again, you probably won't ever really have a sense that things have "crashed."
